Totutoro's best asset is that it can blend it with its environment. Travellers weary from the desert sun in the old days believed Totutoro to be a mirage, or anomaly of nature. With its green body covered in thron like thistles, it looks like a cactus. However this could not be farther from the truth. Totutoro is a rock body poke'mon which is capable of retracting and shooting its poison covered spike rocks in and out of its body. So when Totutoro needs to blend in with its surroundings, it simply raises its spikes ans stands still, perking its ears and arms in the hopes it will look like a cactus in its surroundings.

When retracted, Totutoro's spikes appear as cute polka dots over its body, giving it a very kawaii appeal to female trainers and and the like. However, it takes months of training to have a Totutoro feel comfortable enough around its trainer to always have its spikes retracted
until needed in battle. This is why first time Totutoro trainers are advised to keep their poke'mon in its poke'ball while sleeping, and spend lots of quality time with their Totutoro in the first few weeks after capture.

Totutoro is odd in that its ability "Reaction" will cause its spikes to flair up if attacked by an attack of the type Totutoro is vulnerable to, so mainly water and psychic attacks. This doesn't work in Totutoro'sfavor however, because if the opposing poke'mon is more powerful than it, one attack could be all the opponent needs to land a quick knockout.

When its ability is reacted though, and the spikes are flared, Totutoro's stats go through the roof! It's Defense and Attack double, and while its Accuracy suffers a slight loss, the other two stat gains make it worth the slight handicap.

In battle Totutoro uses attacks such as "Rock Throw" and "Poison Sting", but later on can learn more pwerful attacks such as "Toxic" and "Rock Blast". Should it use its learned attack "Rollout" while its Reaction ability is in effect however, opposing trainers should know they are leaving their poke'mon vulnerable to multiple poisonous cuts on its body should Totutoro succeed in landing a hit with the attack.

So trainers be warned! If you should find the adorable yet deadly Totutoro in the wild, and manage to capture it, this poke'mon can be a double edged sword in battle. Oddly enough, Totutoro learns the attack "Double-Edge".

However, due to its cute, yet deadly nature, it will always find a place within its trainers' heart.

Okay!!! ^.^

This is my entry for the "Create an Original Poke'mon" portion of 's annual Poke-Challenge contest. Totutoro really came from lots of different inspiration, but the desired effect here was to create a poke'mon that was more simple, like the original generations of poke'mon, but still have that design flair that could appeal to the current generations.

I knew I wanted to create a rabbit poke'mon but I wasn't quite sure how to go about it. I tried water rabbits, fire rabits, ice rabbits, hell I even tried a bug rabbit just for kicks. But none of them melted my heart!! T.T'

Then one day I was watching an episode of Poke'mon I found online, it just happened to be the episode
where Ash and co. find a wild Sudowoodo in the Johto generation, and can't figure out what type it is because of its move "Mimic".

At the time, ironically I was playing Poke'mon Sapphire and was goign through the desert, searching for a wild Cacnea when the idea struck me. And thus, Totutoro was born. <33
